GLAUCOMA SERVICES

Glaucoma is a condition where the optic nerve becomes damaged due to a number of factors such as elevated eye pressure and damage to the retinal nerve fiber layer.  Significant vision loss, even blindness, may occur if left untreated.  It is typically a “silent” condition where one does not know they have glaucoma until the disease is more advanced and vision is lost.  The risk of glaucoma does increase with age, family history, and systemic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes.  Our doctors evaluate every patient for glaucoma as necessary with the latest diagnostic technology.
